I had acquired AVG because of a virus a few months back, which it got rid of. I do have norton, but the virus protection has expired, also had AVG and I run Lavasoft's Ad Aware SE once in awhile. I went ahead and downloaded hijackthis and ran a scan, below is the log. Keeps changing what the problem is.Īny help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance Just recently installed Dell Network Assistant, and it had said to disconnect and reconnect the router, and a few other things. Was thinking of setting all the pcs to static, but not sure that would fix it. Saw another thread in these forums addressing the automatic vs static ip.

Have tried to repair the problem using the Windows wizard but most of the time it says that it can't renew the ip address. Have spoken to Netgear numerous times with no solution The connection is usually a limited connection or no connection when trying to connect to the internet. I can't access the internet thru a browser or any other programs. If I disconnect though, it might take a while to sign back in, but while I am connected to a game (could be for several hours). The strange part is at times if I try for about 15 minutes I can log into a mmorpg fine, and it wont lose connection at all. Sometimes right after the computers starts up it will connect to Firefox or Explorer, but that will only last for about 10 minutes. The laptop has no problems connecting to the internet, the HP drops connection every now and then, but the Dell Desktop has some weird things going on, hehe. Went thru the process of installing the cards and software. Purchased a Netgear MaxRange wireless router and 2 desktop cards, the laptop came with a network. I have a Dell and Hp desktop and a Dell laptop.
